This website’s theme is hand-coded, a custom product of my programming skill. Because of that, development is haggard. I am currently working on the implementation of the site and an adjacent project so the information presented within is even more accessible (particularly when rendered across different devices).
I did publish a full, long, hard… blog post, but, I realized that the last part of it was incomplete, and as written, is a bit strange in a way that might lead others to think I’m not aware of a few very important things, and so I have temporarily removed it.
This may seem odd to mention, but I have to be careful about what people might be led to conclude as it’s become quite dangerous to do otherwise. This is an extreme challenge of my skill, and expression, because taking great pains to make sure people are able to know what I know and am aware of obviously requires so. many. more. words. to accomplish in a way that satisfies me. Making sure they take me at my word in good faith is nigh-impossible now, so, why spend even more words trying to do that?
As an illustration, it’s also a bit pointless, to a degree, because even though I “took it down” temporarily, the copy I had put up as a Work In Progress is forever immortalized at places like ghostarchive.org. Yeah, I’m aware. And that’s fine, as long as I address it, because, once again, it is so very easy for someone acting in bad faith, the kind you’re never supposed to commit, to claim that the evidence of its removal is thus evidence of my impulsiveness.
I could go on here, at length, about how impossible double-standards make things impossible: on the one hand I should develop everything in the open to be more “authentic” and exist in an audience’s minds, almost like it’s a moral duty, and on the other hand I should never take a step back and decide that something’s not quite right, a misstep if deemed official, and so, needs rewritten. If I post, and then realize something the next morning that makes it unwise, so I then un-post to fix it because it would cause confusion (and further misleading commentary), I’m fucked with the unshakeable observation of chronic, dangerous, self-unaware impulsivity.
Dude. It’s a blog post.
I have reasons I don’t that don’t exist in other people’s minds, ones they cannot really know.
Anyway,
I do have this to publish in the meantime:
The Glossary‘s First Draft
I’ve never been keen on publishing first drafts,
unless I can consider them the final draft
as well, such as my Small Cumfurts episodes, which were written by hand in one day for the amusement of my husband Maus and my former friend Liana Kerzner (who showered them with praise in her signature pity the poor bottom-feeder
fashion that her audience seems to enjoy).
However, I’ve realized since then that far too many individuals, the likes of which tout themselves as educated in things like Spanish Literature, believe that not being Terminally Online
reveals the truth that things not on the Internet don’t actually exist.
Despite my experience of not publishing a word of Small Cumfurts on the public Internet for more than a year, I must defer to their expertise in not being Terminally Online
like me, so, they must know.
So, here is a true first draft of something I’m working on, at complete random:
