My first "official" fandom fursuit in approximately 8th grade. This photo was taken at the Halloween dance/festival held at East Grand Middle School. This building is no longer standing, thank god. I am supposed to be Gmork from Michael Ende's The Neverending Story (Die Unendiche Geschichte)

The head is simply a hood over my head, and the snout has no support. It mostly just drooped down from the front of the hood. I have no idea what supported the ears. At the end of the tube-like snout was a set of standard fake teeth that glowed in the dark lol

At this stage I had *no idea* outside of a sports mascot that people wore "fursuits" or the concept. This would've been 1996-1997 about. I was *so* excited to have come up with this idea and be wearing my own thought-up "fursuit" idea thing. I felt very original, but, where I was, I was.

The key here, to differentiate it from the first costume I posted, is that I'm *almost* fully covered. There are no "human" parts or skin showing. That's the *big* deal, sort of. I was also a teenager, and this sort of costume was seen as more of a younger child thing. I didn't care… I liked it!

At this dance I felt so much like myself, who I truly was, I was more outgoing, and I danced! It was a great time. I later scavenged the funky tail from this suit, I believe (or something like it), for the tail I wore every day my last two years of high school. I was expressing who I was inside.
