It was never truly necessary, but it was very convenient to identify someone. I can still identify them exactly the same if I desire. They've accomplished nothing significant.

I’m pretty confident they want to know despite the insistence I’m not saying anything of value. Who knows. They also could use alt accounts, or, just log out since I don’t protect my account.
