I thought it’d be fun to offer a list of things I’m thinking of working on and see what *other* people might be interested in seeing me work on. Currently, I generally work on things at seeming random (from the outside), but, it might be more ‘productive’ in a sense if I work on things other people are more interested in seeing.
Now, the way you vote on this board is by paying money. That’s right, the more money a task gets, the higher it goes on the board. I’ll pick the top thing to do next when I finish the last one.
This must be made absolutely clear:
When you give the money you are giving a gift to me. This is neither a donation to a cause, an investment in an enterprise, nor a purchase of a service or product.
There is no business relationship between you and Asher Wolfstein upon gifting your vote.
Because said gift is not a donation, an investment, or a purchase, this severs any obligation for me to perform any sort of service, advocate for any cause, or produce any product. This is simply a fun gift.
I’m not asking you *for* money. I’m not asking you to do anything. I’m not requesting money, and I’m certainly not begging for money. This is pure fun monetary encouragement. Gift me money at your own risk: once the money leaves your hands (and past Stripe’s dispute policy) it is mine and I will do with it however I like without your input.
With that out of the way, let’s have a grand time and see what Asher Wolfstein, which is me, can cook up next!

Asher Wolfstein’s WP Server
Asher Wolfstein’s WP Server mirrors a remote WordPress site in a local development environment without requiring database changes. It can also sync local and remote databases while preserving environment-specific settings, such as the active theme. The working prototype uses OpenSwoole when available, falls back to standard PHP, and is planned for release under the BSD License.

This is a WordPress plugin that allows the user to ‘mirror’ a remote WordPress site and a local WordPress installation.
An example workflow goes like this (but you don’t necessarily have to do it in this order):
- You set up a WordPress site on a remote host.
- You set up a local WordPress development environment on your desktop.
- You copy the database from the remote site into the database for the local site.
- You install Asher Wolfstein’s WP Server on the local site.
- You run Asher Wolfstein’s WP Server through WP-CLI (or whatever).
- Now, you can access your-site.local using your browser, and it *acts* like your-site.xyz: no database changes need be made.
- As an added bonus, if you install Asher Wolfstein’s WP Server on your remote host, you can then sync your local database and your remote database sans certain parameters, such as the current theme and other important database-stored options.
And that’s basically Asher Wolfstein’s WP Server!
I’ve got a working, somewhat buggy prototype working right now. It uses OpenSwoole when available, but falls back to pure PHP or what-not when not available.
If I make this, I’ll release it under the
BSD Licensefor everyone to enjoy.$1.00 from 1 contribution

A “Parserless” Parser

A “Parserless Parser” – My take on parsing inputs based on monotonic extension, Semantic Function, Traverseless Hypergraph, and Dynamic Resolution, that enables one to build a sort of universal parser where the “grammar” is the implementation, and which even potentially allows for the parsing of contextual grammars.

A Deterministic Machine Learning Algorithm (KnottedPEG)
Read more about A Deterministic Machine Learning Algorithm (KnottedPEG)
A Deterministic Machine Learning Algorithm (KnottedPEG) – Most machine learning algorithms operate statistically, oftentimes resulting in black boxes of mish-mashed wires and connections that enumerate over, or take advantage of, billions of combinations and inputs (at least these days), OR, they utilize random search methods over a utility space, like genetic algorithms, to construct better and better fits to an existing problem. The approach I hope to explore utilizes a search space, but, rather than being unknowable, it’s already apprehended to an instrumental degree; and rather than search a giant statistical space (at random perhaps) until the closest and most versatile fit is found, it “reasons” deterministically towards the highest utility. If this is accomplishable it would enable a machine that can achieve 100% alignment rather than the black boxes we have now. I currently have a nominal prototype that can sorta learn against old Nintendo games, but as of yet isn’t too impressive. I hope to create a sequel video with more measurable results soon.

Bottom-Driven Semantic Monotonicity
Read more about Bottom-Driven Semantic Monotonicity
The central claim of the framework lies in the observation that the basic principle underlying abstraction is not the transformation of the referent into an easily understandable form for cognition but rather differentiation and integration: the discovery of commensurable units, the exclusion of their differential measures, and the retention of their identities as the objective basis for the concept, which is made possible by their economy.
This elegant explanation of abstraction makes it possible to construct an enhanced framework of integration without substitution: the larger expanse of reason introduces a new way of understanding the differentiated objects while retaining their identities, operative relations, and the evidential path by which they give the abstraction its meaning.
The solution proposed here is Bottom-Driven Semantic Monotonicity: a framework that eliminates translation boundaries through enforcement of all higher-level semantics emerging exclusively as consistent extensions of a single, fixed Submachine. In this system of thought and engineering practice, every construct—syntactic, semantic, or domain-level—must obey the binding constraints imposed by the substrate’s operational identity. I refer to this principle of restraint as the Dominance Condition of the Submachine.
It may very well be possible that, regarding the base machine as the standard of truth, not the subject of reinterpretation, an entirely new class of computational systems becomes possible: transparent, honest, and coherent by construction.
However, I must temper such back-of-the-book, blurb-like optimism and advise the reader to take in such vistas with due diligence, however exciting they may be. I’d much rather a future advocate travel towards the near-unseen frontier rather than teleport into the sim naked.

How To Program Anything – Don’t think I forgot this guy! I’ve been working on post series that can serve as whole references to languages like C, C++, and Rust. In fact, I’ve been toying with a quirky idea of compiling The Complete Machine Code Reference, outlining the various machine codes in all the machines I can find and more. A weird angle, sure, but definitely one that’s very Asheresque.

Novelty Factor Hosting
Read more about Novelty Factor Hosting
Novelty Factor Hosting – Interest has picked up in my formerly-owned hosting service ever since I made it clear that one of the values it offers users is human review, and even disagreement, with takedown-reports (if they’re even made), per the service’s discretion, of course. It definitely is a place where one can publish the truth as one (reasonably) sees it without fear of it completely disappearing because someone is annoyed that you’re exposing their negative behavior.
We live in the United States of America and understand that free speech doesn’t mean “allowed,” and it doesn’t mean no negative reactions ever, something our detractors, who complain that a disagreement with their takedown-case “limits their free speech,” (wrap your brain around that one), can’t seem to grasp.
Since we’ve gained a couple clients I feel it fit that the site that used to be up be revamped and re-established in line with the original vision. This includes a revamping of the control panel and the “webshop,” as well as further niche-specific packages.

The Artonautica
Read more about The Artonautica
Artonautica – My pet project for which I began work on the 魅惑Engine in the first place. Surprise! It wasn’t for Kerzner’s shitty game! It’s actually also why I ventured to create a TRS-80 Color Computer I/II/III emulator within Godot as well (and did). Isn’t it amazing how a whole other human being made of flesh and bone, with a, perhaps, overactive mind that likes to think… A LOT has an inner life that forms an entire domain of context devoid of much immediate outside influence including random wannabe mental health influencers that constantly kept inserting “we” into everything?
It’s fucking mind boggling, if I do say so myself, or, at least, IT GODDAMN SHOULD BE, and what I mean when I say should be is that it’s mind boggling someone thinks my entire inner sanctum of thoughts and emotions revolves entirely around their sad existence of trying to manufacture, yes, manufacture drama from their haters…
Anyways, I’m not sure how to describe this game. It’s unlike anything I think, on the whole, that anybody has seen before… but I might be a bit biased. I don’t mean in terms of presentation (though… maybe?) as there’s only so many things you can do with what is essentially interactive fiction with graphics tacked on… sorta. I more mean the whole package.

The 魅惑Engine (Miwaku Engine)
Read more about The 魅惑Engine (Miwaku Engine)
The 魅惑Engine (Miwaku Engine) – A “parser-based” game engine that I began work on during the initial development of Liana Kerzner’s failed BOSSFIGHT: Song of Sparklemuffin since I WAS NOT PART OF THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM AND NEVER AGREED TO ANY FUCKING TRANSPARENCY INTO MY LIFE (and for which she has placed the burden of cancellation at the feet of my mental illness; not me, but my “unmanaged disorder” that I apparently “don’t think is a disorder” despite going on the air with her to talk about the disorder, and for whic…)
I actually have a prototype of the 魅惑Engine within Godot, as I was initially developing it within Godot. The concept for it is as an extension of interactive fiction, and is based on my yet-to-be-published concept of Abstract Narrative Simulation Theory (ANST), thus the “parser-based” bit.
And that means that, if you look at it, on a highly personal note for a moment, I finished my project while Liana Kerzner phoned-in their management of their project, okaying everything that was done, developed, and came out and then complained at the results not lining up with what they themselves okayed.
As I wrote, and I’m sure some laughed at, if I were actually a team member, their game would’ve been done by now… I mean, my software is!
